Pictures of Daniel

Here are some more pictures of our little guy. He is doing well. He is on a feeding tube again because he has Thrush. It hurts to eat so they want to make sure he keeps growing, thus the tube. That should only be for a couple of days. Hopefully we will get to get up there this week and hold him. Everyone thinks he looks like Nathan. They are certainly brothers.

Brotherly Love

We have had a couple of sweet moments between the boys lately. I thought I would share two of them. The other day I heard Nathan start to cry. I could hear Derek with him and that probably means they were fighting. But when I went to check on them I could hear Nathan crying, but I also heard Derek saying Sorry. He never will say that for me. I heard him say it a couple of times and when I walked in the room he was giving Nathan a big hug and holding him tight. Nathan cried for a few more seconds on Derek's shoulder and then they went back to playing. So sweet.

This next on happened just a few minutes ago. It is my favorite. Nathan followed me downstairs and proceeded to cry. I couldn't figure out why. He didn't want a drink, hug, or food. I finally put him in his high chair to cry it out. Sometimes he just needs a few minutes of good crying. Derek was watching a movie. I soon heard him coming down. He kept saying "what matter" as he walked down the stairs. When he got to the kitchen he said "where're you" looking for me. I answered him, he looked at me and said "what matter." I told him I didn't know what was wrong with Nathan. He turned to his brother and then asked him "what matter" and took him in his arms and held him as he cried. My heart melted and I teared up a little as he held him. He then wiped the tears away with his hands and proceeded to convince Nathan to eat the food I had tried to get him to eat. Now they are eating, laughing, and playing together. What a precious moment.

Baby Name

I should have waited a couple of hours. With pictures to help us we have finalized on a name. Our son will be called Daniel Brockbank.

Our New Little Angel

Our little one has a sweet Angel watching over him. She is a foster mother in MI, and she goes up everyday and sits with him. She sent us these pictures. We think he is so cute. I can't stop looking at them. I can't wait to get up there and cuddle him, kiss him, hug him, sing to him, and just be with him. We will let you know the name soon. Now that we have a picture Jordan should be able to decide more quickly. Thanks for all the prayers.

Baby Update

We received a phone call today telling us that Derek and Nathan's birth mother had her baby today. She had a boy. He was 4 lbs 4 oz. That is 1 oz smaller then Nathan. Derek was 2 lbs 10 oz. He is in the NICU for now. He doesn't want to eat on his own so he is being feed through a tube. We don't have a time frame for going home, but sometime in a month or two. Closer to a month is my guess. No name yet. We will let you know. We don't plan to go up to quickly, but we will see how he does. We are very excited. Please keep him and his mother in your prayers.

Mountains

Heaven!!! For Jordan and I the day and night spent in the mountains hiking and camping were heaven. We love the fresh air, pine smell, mountain vistas, etc. We hiked about 2 1/2 miles the first afternoon and the next day we did around 5 miles. The boys are to young to do much hiking so we packed them on our shoulders as you will see below. They loved being outside and seeing all the wildlife.

Both boys fell asleep on the hike. We transfered them from our shoulders to our arms and continued on. Boy do they get heavy.

Rosie loved being out also. She was everywhere, but also always in our sights. She is a great dog. She never strays to far.

Grandma put together Indian things for all the grand kids. Aren't our little Indians Cute.

I put warmer clothes on the boys as night approached. Nathans coat had a hood and Derek's didn't. He was very upset. So, we came up with a solution. He got to wear moms shirt with a hood. Now he is "Little Red Riding Hood." He also loves to sword fight with stick and can often be found with a stick.

Temple Square

We were able to go to Temple Square for a couple of hours while we were in Utah. We enjoyed our visit. Here are some pics.

This was Derek and Nathans Favorite part. They liked the Statue of Jesus, but they also really enjoyed the stars and planets painted all around. Derek kept pointing at the stars and saying "Stars Pretty" over and over.

You can't go to Temple Square without seeing some beautiful flowers.
