Our First Day with Levi

We were able to pick Levi up at 2:30 on Saturday when he was 4 days old. Joy! That is the best word for meeting him. It is always so special when we get to meet our boys for the first time. He is a special little boy, with tons of wonderful soft hair. The boys love him so much. Daniel squishes him with lots of love.(We have to be careful with his love.) Derek holds him so gently, and Nathan loves him, but does it quickly, jumps in holds, hugs, kisses, and runs.

Adoption is such a wonderful blessing. We have had people ask us, "Can you really love a child that is adopted. They really can't be the same as biological." Our answer is always a resounding, YES!!! We love them so much and the love begins before even meeting our boys. We have spent time praying about adding them to our family each time and know that these boys are meant to be part of our eternal family.

We are always told that we are so wonderful for helping these boys. Jordan and I both feel that we are the blessed ones and these boys have helped us. We both wanted children so much, and after realizing we would be unable to have biological children we happily jumped into the adoption arena. Adoption is a wonderful, sometimes painful, exciting, hard, trying, joyous, experience.

The paper work, waiting, wondering, and especially when there is a failed adoption are all hard. But when, it finally comes together and the child is placed in your arms it is all worth it. Joy is the best word. We loved our boys from the moment we heard about them, even before we meet them. I can remember coming to get Daniel, we went to the agency before seeing him and the worker said we needed to sign paper work, but that we could do that after going to see him. We said we would prefer to sign away so we could just go and be with him and not have to leave. The social worker asked if we were sure we didn't want to see him first and make sure we wanted to do this. We said, we didn't need to see him, we knew he was ours. They all are.

Adoption is such a blessing and joy. I could go on for a long time, but I will stop. Enjoy the pictures of our special family, made possible by adoption, sent straight from Heavenly Father.

Farm Fun

While awaiting the arrival of Levi, we went to work for my dad on the farm. The boys were in Heaven.

Daniel's favorite place - The 4-Wheeler

I often saw the boys walking hand in hand through the feedlot. They were so loving with each other. The big boys made sure Daniel was always well cared for and safe. They love each other so much. I love it.

Mud was Derek and Nathan's favorite part. You can't tell, but Nathan's pants are actually blue. I guess you can't call it mud on the feedlot. :-) It was sure fun to hose them off.

Great Grandpa Yeager

Twice a week the boys helped Jordan clean waters. They loved working with daddy.

Welcoming Levi Samuel

Here are some pictures of Levi that the agency sent to us. Levi was born, September 24th at 8:07 pm. His birth mother Kim walked to the hospital to have him. He is 6 lbs 2 oz and 19 in long. We will be able to get him this afternoon, and probably go to the foster mothers this morning to be with him till all the paper work is signed. So happy to have our little man here.

TO THE FARM

My Dad asked us to come and help out on the farm about a month ago. We said yes, and have been working in Kansas for a week. The boys are having a blast. I will post pics when we get home, but I thought I would touch on some highlights.

Daniel gets a Kiss: Daniel reached his hand out towards a cow this morning and was surprised when the cow reached back and licked his hand. He jumped and then grinned really big. The rest of the time in the pens he would reach his hand out to all cows. No one else accepted his offer, but he was happy to try.

Derek and Nathan Make Cake: I kicked the boys outside the other afternoon. It has rained a lot here and it is very wet. When you think of a feedlot and puddles they aren't the nice clean puddles, they have a bit of cow in them. So, when I went out to check on them I had to laugh when they were up to there elbows in a manure-puddle making birthday cake. Boy was that going to be a yummy cake.

The boys love the 4-wheeler and ride it all the time. They love that the horse is back and feed it and water it daily. They are so happy to have a puppy, and even Sam is learning to like them and their love. Derek screams like a girl at all the bugs, flies and anything else that flies at him(like flying manure.)

These 3 boys are having a blast, and mommy and daddy love watching them. We are glad we can see family and help my dad out while he gets a break and goes to Alaska to go fishing. We can't wait for the phone call to go get our little Levi. Next time we visit the farm there will be 4 boys to help Grandpa.
