We started the day at the North end of the park in the cold wind. It was 40 out, but very windy. We drove 5 miles in and did a short 1 mile hike. The boys wore out a bit quick because of the cold, but they made it, even dressed up like snow bunnies. 
Down south it was much warmer and the winter gear came off. It was in the 50's and beautiful. The boys loved it. One hike, shown below, was to a water fall. The trail was clear the first half, but the last half was a ice skating rink. Derek was delighted, Nathan was not. He hated it. Daniel was all smiles, on our shoulders.
Our last hike was all in the sun and lots of fun. In fact we had a hard time convincing our boys to call it quits. They didn't want to leave. Only the threat of the sun going down and them seeing the moon got them to head out. The best part was on our way out 7 deer crossed the trail right in front of us. They are so used to people that they were just 15 ft. from us. The boys loved it. All in all they did 3 miles that day.
