Adopting

Dear Family and Friends,

This is a special post to ask for your prayers and help. We received word from LDS Family Services that our boy's birth mother is expecting again. She is due September 15th and is expecting another boy. There are a few major things that have changed since the last adoption of Daniel.

First, and the hardest thing for us, is that the birth mother has tested positive for HIV. We have spent a lot of time over the last 2 weeks researching this. There is a good chance that this child will be born without HIV, but there is never a guarantee. Please call us or e-mail us if you have any questions about HIV. I will post more information on HIV in the future.

We ask for your prayers for this little boy and for the birth mother. Pray that he is born strong and healthy, and that the birth mother can get the help that she needs, along with having the strength to stay away form her drug addictions.

Jordan and I have spent a lot of time praying and discussing whether we should go forward with this adoption. Along with the HIV is the fact that Jordan has been out of work for 10 months. We financially can not fund an adoption. But, even with these two overwhelming facts we felt assurances from our Father in Heaven that this little boy is meant to be part of our family.

So, we are asking for help from all of you. We need to raise the money to adopt this little boy. Adoptions are very expensive and we will need to raise $7000.00-10,000 to cover the adoption fees and all the travel expenses. We realize this amount is very large, and we are asking a lot. We know he is meant to be part of our family and we know with the Lord's help, and all of you help we can do this.

We are hoping to put together a garage sale, and would appreciate any donations towards this. We will hold this garage sale later in the month of July. If you live close by please bring us any items we might use.

We would also ask that anyone that is able to donate money to us please do so. We will us this money to pay the adoption fees to the agency, and the travel expenses of getting to Michigan, and the expenses of staying there during the paperwork process.

We appreciate all of you prayers and help with this. We realize this is a lot of money, but if everyone is helps out some we can bring this little boy home and give him a forever family. We are excited to have our family grow. It is scary knowing that this little boy could be born with a very life altering disease. However, we feel that God has a hand in this and we will accept his will and move forward with Faith. Please help us bring him home.

Spring Hiking

We hiked about 4-5 miles with the boys. They loved it.

These are the boys cousins. They love being close enough to them to do things with them.

Poor Nathan was really struggling the beginning of the hike. We were wondering what happened to our little hiker. Then we realized that his water pack had been crimped and was not working. Once he got water he was off of me and running up the mountain.

This is an extra photo, I couldn't resist. He sleeps like this every night. The other boys slept like this at one point too.
