Derek Joshua: Inquisitive, Quite, Loving, Artsy 
Derek loves to learn. He enjoys sitting at the table and practicing his numbers and letters. He is always asking questions to understand how things work. He loves to cook with me. He likes to do crafts, color, paint, and anything hands on. Derek has a great memory. We are always amazed when he remembers something we told him months ago, or when he says a word or phrase that sounds so grown up. He soaks up all information and stores it away.
Derek also loves being outdoors. He loves to hike and camp, although he isn't as insistent as Nathan, as he is pretty certain he wont like camping in the snow/cold. He likes to ride his bike, play with his toy trucks, build in the sand, and just play outside with his toys.
Derek is my great helper. He is very good about getting me things, taking care of Levi, bringing me Levi when he is crying, getting snacks for Daniel and Nathan, and just being there to help me out. His most common response to my questions of Derek will you ... is "Yes Mom!" He then runs happily away to do it. The only thing he truly doesn't like helping with is cleaning the basement. Both boys think that is pure torture.
Derek also is taking an interset in music and loves to sing, and listen to music. Almost nightly when we ask him what song he wants to sing at bedtime he will say, "The Mommy Song." He learned a song called Mother I Love You, for Mother's Day, and still loves to sing it for me, and each night it still melts my heart to hear it. He get excited about classical music and likes to watch people paly viollins, cellos, pianos, etc.
