We had about an hour in Ketchikan to play before boarding the ferry. The boys found a beach and seaweed. Then we waited at the ferry terminal for a bit and then loaded up. My dad loves to find little out of the way places with minimal people and interruptions. That meant a 3 1/2 ferry ride to Prince of Whales Island(3 largest island in America) and then a 2-3 hour drive to the cabin. Long going, but it was worth it. Our going to the Island Ferry was a sunny and warm, our returning ride was cold, windy and rainy.
We enjoyed the ferry, but all of the adults were a bit stressed keeping up with Levi. We were all worried he would jump over board especially after I was holding him to show him the water and he said to me "Mom, throw me over." He has no fear. Needless to say we all survived.
